After a 2019 plagued with injuries and mishaps, it was great to see Donny recapture his winning form at Mornington today.
Although not able to get it done in his previous starts, the team felt if Donny had overcome some niggling issues he would be very hard to beat on his home track.
Getting away cleanly and quickly, he was easily able to overcome his wide barrier and get to the lead with minimal effort. From there Jake rated him perfectly and as they straightened for home, Donny gave a kick, putting lengths on his rivals, and the result was never in doubt.
Great to get another win on the board for his terrific group of Owners. We look forward to seeing what lies ahead for the rest of his prep now we have a happy and healthy Donny back.
