Mornington trainer Michael Mehegan isn’t heading to The Showdown just to make up the numbers.
He is hopeful $25,000 buy Miss Inbetween can be fighting it out for a major slice of the $855,000 prizemoney at Caulfield on Saturday.
For Mehegan, who trains just a small team, this is the richest race he has ever had a runner in and believes his two-year-old filly’s $21 quote is overs.
“I don’t think they’ve got the market right. There’s horses there that are $8, $9 that finished right next to her at Bendigo in a race that was too short for her,” Mehegan said.
“On paper I think she has snuck under the radar.
“We have got her there in really good order and we are really confident she’s going to run a really good race.
