Michael Mehegan continue his impressive run since returning to training with the win of Viking Hunter?

 

The three-year-old gelding broke through at just his second start in the $20,000 Mornington BMW Plate (1200m).

 

It was just the ninth starter Mehegan, who trains out of Mornington, has saddled since returning from a break of almost three years and his second winner.

 

But the 43-year-old has produced a further three second placegetters in that time to boast a 55 per cent strike-rate of runners to top-two finishers since his return in March.
